Deja Vu

Wow. Been a long time huh? Well, I have no excuse except...well I'm just lazy. Hah! But I'm baaaaaccckkk!!! So! Hide your children, set your guard dogs to attack and lock your doors, cuz baby, I'm just as crazy as ever.

I guess in the spirit of things I'll just jump right in. So here goes. I found this band, well this girl really, a long time ago. Heard one of her singles on, of all things, Xbox 360. Some community thing, I don't remember. But anyways, I loved it! It reminded me of something, though at the time I really had no idea what. But just recently I was browsing itunes like I do and I found a playlist of all female rockers. And guess who was on it! That's right, Lights! So here's the skinny, this adorable little thing, and she is adorable, is named Valerie Poxleitner. Awkward, I know, but what can you do. This Canadian cutie has been performing her pretty sparkly synthpop internationally since 2006. And here's an odd little tidbit, she legally changed her name to that of her band. That's right, her name is actually Lights! Kinda cool right? She's won skads of awards in the indie genre, ranging from Favorite Single to Pop Album of the Year. And the great thing is, she deserves em! Her music puts you in mind of Owl City, and I have heard a lot of people refer to her as a female Owl City, even I have. And while it is simpler to say that about Lights, it isn't entirely true. Same genre perhaps, but there is where the similarities end. So!
